We are back with more pictures on its unusual architecture and with something extra regarding its interior design. The project is called Reflection of Mineral¯ and belongs to Japanese architect Yasuhiro Yamashi from Atelier Tekuto. Located not far from the center of Tokyo, the contemporary 480 sq ft (44 sq m) residence breaks the architecture rules its surroundings. The amazing abstract shape was designed very efficiently, making use of the little space. Every angle of site brings with it a different view. The interior’s original shapes and dimensions are determined by the architecture and the arrangements had to be done accordingly. You can check out the final results in the pictures below. Enjoy!
This really cool studying place was created by AEQUO, a Dutch design studio and is located in Utrecht, The Netherlands. The Vleuterweide Campus “suffered” a tremendous make-over as its information plaza became a high tech culture space where students can catch up with the information they need. The place was compared to a monastery, where each bench is equipped with state of the art technology. However, the computers, magazines and other elements are very subtly integrated in the overall bench design. We also noticed how the displays are not stacked in together like we’ve seen in a few libraries, but situated at a good distance from one another in order to allow students to properly concentrate. We also like the colors, as they send out a warm feeling. Would you like to study in a place like this?
The Mondrian Sideboard comes from Boca Do Lobo and caught our attention due to its diversity, artsy feel and glamorous looks. We found out that the carvings and models on the sideboards reunite a variety of artistic styles and the materials used are also diverse. Lacquer, leather and glass are just some of the designer’s options for the finishing touch. A large part of the products was handcrafted, which gives it even more originality. This is perhaps the reason for the limited edition items. The designers stated that this furniture “is an exclusive emotional experience, a sense of belonging and a state of mind. We will not insist on the functionality of the design, as it is clear that so many drawers could only mean plenty of storage space. - Via - 3rings

Although still at the concept stage the “Cube Chair” by Svilen Gamalov provides an interesting example of modern design. The chair, which combines futurist design elements of the 1950's with modern sensibility, is designed to envelope the user, creating a comfortable and stylized space. I hope to see more creative pieces of modern furniture like these, and I can’t wait to see the Gamalovs Cube Chair fully realized.
