Tired of old fashioned lighting and common lamps? Brenda Houston came up with these unusual “rocky” design meant to brake the pattern of sober and dull lighting. The “recipe” could not be easier to follow: take a normal lamp and a add an eccentric rock at the bottom. We don’t know about you guys, but these crazy designs really got to us. We think they would go great in an original and modern interior, with simple but creative arrangements. Most of the items come in black and white. The difference is made by the colorful rock and as you can see, there are plenty of colors to chose from. You can find out more about these products by visiting the designer’s web page- just in case we stirred up your interest.

The color and freshness of the kitchens in our previous post is replaced here by elegance. The main colors are black, gray, white and brown which are pleasantly combined in creating modern designs. Plants and other decorative elements manage are nicely integrated in the decors.  Please check them out and let us know what you think. Do you prefer colorful kitchen designs over more "serious" interiors such as the ones below ?

If you are a fan of contemporary architecture, then check out this modern Mexican villa from JCNAME Architects. Too parallel boxes, each with a well defined design were connected together for this project called “MO House”. White, red and black were the colors chosen for the exterior, a palette which brings a sober touch. Large windows facilitate a good indoor illumination and contribute to the overall modern design. Privacy is not an issue, as the frosted glass does not allow too much visibility. The interior is minimalist, with stairs connecting the floors and interesting looking furniture. The illuminated floors and large painting are elements that build up the home’s personality.

Did you ever think of the possibility of drawing all over your furniture without no one getting annoyed? In this post we would like to gather your opinions on chalkboards as apartment embedded objects. In the pictures that follow, you will see a lot of examples of blackboards being used as walls or even as furniture. We think this is a great idea for the kids’ rooms, as it would stimulate their creativity. We also like the USA map because it does not occupy a lot of space and it is perfect for notes now and then. However, we think that a blackboard which covers an entire wall is better suited in a school than in a home. A large surface means a lot of chalk dust which in the end is not even all that healthy.

The innovative office has a comfortable sitting place, a fold-out laptop stand, a cool table lamp and even a special coffee-cup place. Shelves are also available and there is plenty of storage space for books, files and other desk-related items. Four Works is available in black and white and occupies a small amount of space in comparison to other similar desks. This makes it the kind of workstation that would fit great in a small apartment or a room with little available space. via Home Tone
